Algae and Debris Removal from Swansea Canal
Combined vegetation and debris removal to clear excessive growth and floating waste from Swansea Canal.
Urban Canal Maintenance
Unfortunately, rubbish and flotsam can be a common sight on otherwise well-preserved public canals, particularly where waterways pass through urban areas. Maintaining the appearance of the canal is an important part of its wider management, alongside controlling excessive vegetation and keeping water moving freely through the channel. Dense aquatic growth can also trap floating litter and debris, allowing both vegetation and rubbish to accumulate together.
Vegetation and Debris Removal
Aquaclear cleared the affected sections by removing excessive aquatic vegetation and algae while simultaneously collecting litter, flotsam and other floating debris encountered throughout the works. This helped to reopen congested areas of the channel, improve water movement and prevent further material from becoming trapped amongst dense vegetation.
Once completed, the works left a noticeably cleaner and more open waterway. As well as improving the function and condition of the canal, the clearance greatly enhanced its appearance, creating a more attractive environment for walkers, residents and other users to enjoy.
