Desilting a Private Pond

Private pond desilting using a silt pump and temporary geotextile barrier to contain and dewater the removed material.

Pumping and Dewatering Silt

A private pond in Preston required desilting to remove accumulated material and restore the available water depth. A temporary geotextile barrier was installed on unused land belonging to the client, creating a contained area into which the silt could be pumped. Once deposited, the material was left to drain and settle, allowing the excess water to separate naturally. After the silt had dried and set, the membrane was removed and the material was left on site to green over during the warmer months.
